WELCOME & NAMASTE,

Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation that helps with insomnia, anxiety, stress, adrenal fatigue, ptsd and so much more. This scan takes you through the whole body, systematically relaxing every part of your being. If you'd like to learn more about yoga nidra you can also look up integrative restoration or iRest which is the life's work of one of my teachers, Richard Miller.

The word Nidra translates to 'sleep' and is a systematic method of relaxation, inducing physical, mental and emotional relaxation, while maintaining awareness at deeper levels.

There is really no "wrong" way to practice, close your eyes and allow yourself to be guided into deep relaxation.

Yoga Nidra is a state of deep sleep while you remain conscious. During Yoga Nidra you can access many different states of consciousness. You might leave your waking state, go through the dreaming state and into deep sleep state, yet remain fully awake.Scientific research has demonstrated that restorative power of just one hour of Yoga Nidra is equal to 4 hours of healthy sleep. This is why some people refer to yoga nidra as "bliss for your brain" or "divine sleep"

Catherine van Warmerdam

YTT GRADUATE

"I really enjoyed learning yoga nidra with Ally and Tiina. This course was a wonderful follow-up to my 200hr YTT, as we delved deeper into the study of the koshas. The Eastern teachings were nicely balanced with new scientific findings that (unsurprisingly) support the ancient teachings. Ally loves to "geek out" (her words!) on this kind of thing and is enthusiastic about her work. Ally is a wonderful teacher of yoga nidra and a great teacher of teachers. She encourages you to "do things before you are ready" and to try things with a "beginner's mind" so that you can overcome perfectionism and prove to yourself that you can do it, even if you are not confident (and you become more confident in that process). I also appreciate the encouragement to connect with with other course students, and now have many new "yoga friends" in my network as a result. I am so blessed to be able to pass on the gift of yoga nidra to my students, friends, and family. Thank you Ally and Tiina for another great experience."
